A dispute over a bus fare erupted into violence when a driver and two passengers started brawling.

Police were called to deal with the bus stop punch-up, which was caught on CCTV.

Footage shows two passengers boarding a bus and getting off seconds later. One then tampers with the wing mirror, prompting the driver to confront them.

He is then seen swinging a punch at one of the passengers, who appears to pick an object up off the floor and hurl it at the bus.

The driver then launches himself at the passengers, tackling them to the ground.

They scuffle for more than a minute as passersby look on in shock and some try to intervene.

Officers arrived and arrested three men who were later charged with affray. The trio has now been convicted.

Bus driver David Newstead, 43, of Lansdeer Avenue in Gravesend, pleaded guilty in May and was handed a six-month conditional discharge.

Passengers Sean Dickson, 23, of Lowfield Street, Dartford, and Tyler Belgrave-Breeds, also 23, of Brastead Road, Erith were found guilty at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Both are due to return to the same court on Friday, November 7 for pre-sentence reports.

The fight happened at 7.50am on Thursday, March 27. Police were called to reports of a scuffle involving the driver of a route 89 bus and two passengers at Geddes Place, Bexley.
