Car burning on Dartford Crossing's Queen Elizabeth II Bridge causing long delays

A car fire on the Dartford Crossing is causing miles of tailbacks.

Two lanes of the Queen Elizabeth II bridge have been shut as emergency services race to get to the vehicle.

Highways England sent out a tweet warning drivers that three miles of traffic have accumulated on the approach to the bridge from Essex.

It comes on the last Saturday before Christmas, one of the busiest shopping days of the year especially at the nearby Bluewater and Lakeside shopping centres.
