Car destroyed in fire after smashing into wall on A20 London Road near to Brands Hatch

A car was destroyed by fire after it smashed into a wall and burst into flames.

Police arrived at the scene on the A20 London Road in West Kingsdown , and a man was taken to hospital.

The crash, which demolished a brick wall, happened at about 5am today, near the Brands Hatch race circuit entrance.

The car ignited after the impact – also destroying a toppled over lamppost in the process.

Police were forced to close the A20, near to the junction with Hever Avenue, but the route has since reopened.
