Firefighters called to ‘suspicious’ house fire in Pentstemon Drive in Swanscombe

An investigation is under way after a “suspicious” house fire.

Firefighters were called to Pentstemon Drive, off Craylands Lane, Swanscombe, at 7.15pm on Friday, April 28.

A fire service spokesman said: “Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reel jets.

“The cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious.”

Crews left by 8.54pm.

There were unconfirmed reports that a man was arrested nearby.

Police have been contacted for a comment.
