Crime down in north Kent

All types of crime are down in North Kent Home Office statistics revealed today.

Across the area, there was a 16.6 per cent drop, translating to 3,690 fewer crimes.

This was compared to a 10.3 per cent drop across Kent.

Drug offences in Dartford and Gravesham were down by 15.7 per cent, violent crime down by 14.6 per cent and burglary dropped by 28.2 per cent.

Ch Supt Paul Brandon says the figures are thanks to partnership working.

He said: "The figures released today have shown a reduction in all crime categories and demonstrate what an exceptional effort has been made by all staff in North Kent, Gravesham and Dartford borough copuncils, our other key partners, and importantly the communities of Dartford and Gravesend."

Targets in the area will continue to be violent crime, burglary, vehicle crime and issues identified by commununity groups.
