Danny Harris grabbed a hat-trick to inspire Dartford to a 4-1 Blue Square Bet South win against Basingstoke at Princes Park on Monday.

The win closes the gap on leaders Woking to nine points with a game in hand.

The Darts' striker, who only just arrived in time for the game after sitting an accountancy exam in London, put them ahead two minutes before half-time.

He doubled the lead eight minutes after the break, knocking the ball in after Tom Champion's header was saved by visiting goalkeeper Ashley Bayes, but Basingstoke's Stuart Lake pulled one back three minutes later.

Harris set up substitute Tony Garrod to make it 3-1 after 78 minutes. The pair combined again three minutes later as Harris completed his treble.
