Dartford manager Tony Burman insists league positions will count for nothing when he takes his side to FC Halifax Town for Saturday’s FA Trophy quarter-final.

Looking to reach the last four of the competition for the first time in 24 years, the Darts travel to The Shay as slight favourites.

However Burman, pictured, knows their Blue Square Bet North hosts will provide stubborn opposition if the clash beats freezing weather in West Yorkshire.

He said: "We’re away from home, against a tough side and it’s a long journey, so it’s a case of rolling our sleeves up. It’s a massive game. We’ve done ever so well to get into the last eight and we’ve been given a difficult draw.

"I don’t think leagues and league positions matter that much."

Dartford’s last two Blue Square Bet Premier league fixtures have fallen foul of the big freeze but Halifax are optimistic of getting this weekend’s clash on.

Injured skipper Elliot Bradbrook has missed the last two games but the midfielder could yet be involved.

Burman said: "He’s got a chance. The postponements have given him more of a chance. He did a little bit of jogging last Thursday and he’s not far off."
