Dartford manager Tony Burman has urged supporters not to get carried away by his side’s superb start to life in Blue Square Bet Premier.
Last week's 2-0 win over Mansfield has left the Darts fourth, just four points behind leaders Newport.
However, Burman (pictured) was hesitant to even entertain the thought of challenging for a play-off spot with two-thirds of the season still to unfold.
"I’m pleased with what’s happened," he said. "The players are playing with no fear and we are up there on merit but we’re not going to get carried away.
"We’re just going into November and if we’re in the same position on the other side of January, I might be singing our praises even more.
"There’s a long way to go this season. Many things can happen and we’re going into a tough winter.
"We’re going into the unknown with a small squad and we need to keep away from injuries.
"The winter months are funny months and if we can keep in touch, somewhere like where we are now by January or February, then who knows what might happen."
