Dartford manager Tony Burman insists the prospect of a rematch with Port Vale will not distract his side as they prepare for Tuesday’s FA Cup replay against Forest Green Rovers.

The Darts, who drew 1-1 at the New Lawn on Saturday, will host the League 2 high-flyers if they can find a way past Forest Green at the second attempt.

Two seasons ago, Vale needed a late equaliser to avoid a giantkilling after Dartford – then a Blue Square Bet South club – had gone ahead through Elliot Bradbrook.

Burman’s (pictured) side lost the replay 4-0 at Vale Park and although Sunday’s draw had him smiling, the Darts boss said neither he nor his players were looking beyond Forest Green.

He said: “If you start thinking about the next round before you get into it, you’ll be in trouble. We’ve got a difficult job to do and we’ve got to concentrate on that first.

“In the FA Cup, you want to be at home and if you can be at home against a League side, that’s even better. Obviously that’s happened, and it’s great, but we mustn’t take anything for granted because we’ve got a really tough game on Tuesday. We’ve got to try to get through but at least both clubs know what lies ahead.

“When we played Port Vale before, they were top of their division and we had a real serious chance of winning that game. Unfortunately, you only get one chance against a League club, we had that, and we didn’t take it when we should have done. We got punished for it when we went up to Port Vale.”

Kick-off at Princes Park is at 7.45pm.
