Goal hero Tom Bonner believes Dartford’s attacking mentality was the key to their 2-0 win over Luton.

The 24-year-old defender (pictured) scored the decisive second goal just before half-time, diverting Jacob Erskine’s flick-on into the net from six yards.

He said: "It wasn’t the greatest strike but I’m not too bothered.

"People look at Dartford, they see we’ve just come up and think they’ll have all the possession and that we’ll sit back. We did that once, at Gateshead and we got well and truly beaten.

"We learnt a lot from that and since then, we’ve really attacked teams."

Bonner revealed he was even able to share a joke with a section of the home crowd during a break in play at Kenilworth Road.

"They were giving their team a bit of stick, saying they couldn’t believe how bad they were," said Bonner.

"I made a bit of a joke, saying we were all part-time and had to be at work in the morning as a bit of banter. I thought I was going to get abuse, but they took it well."
