Global courier delivery company TNT has been hit by a cyber attack and its systems have been down for almost 24 hours.
The multi-million pound courier firm, which has a depot in Dartford, was put out of action by the Ransomware attack yesterday and its systems failed.
Workers at the 600,000 sq ft warehouse in Central Road North, were left twiddling their thumbs after computers and even conveyor belts came to a halt and staff could not gain access.
The worldwide delivery company’s technicians worked throughout the night to regain access to their systems but the 200-odd people who are employed at the site could not carry out their normal duties.
Staff at the Dartford warehouse later had to sort parcels manually.
The company has another depot in Aylesford, and it is understood both sites have been affected.
A source inside the Dartford warehouse said: “All our systems are off, we have no access to them at all, its affecting us here and at the other warehouses and the depots.
“We have IT technicians working tirelessly to get access back and we are working to still provide the best service to our customers.”
The firm’s website is also not working this morning and could not be reached.
A spokesman for the company told another news agency technicians are working to bring the situation to a resolution.
The spokesman added: “We are assessing the situation and are implementing remediation steps as quickly as possible.”
