DJ dies in Kent hospital

FORMER BBC DJ Tommy Vance has died at Darent Valley Hospital at Dartford following a stroke. He was 63.

Mr Vance was returning home to Docklands in London last Thursday when he suffered the stroke. He died on Sunday morning at about 4am.

During his career, Mr Vance worked for pirate station Radio Caroline, spent 15 years with Radio 1 and was a regular presenter of Top of the Pops. Most recently he was working for digital channel VH1.
