Does your pet pooch have the star quality of Beethoven, Lassie, and Pudsey?

The search is on to find Kent’s best four-pawed star to feature in a theatre production this summer.

The team behind Oliver!, appearing at The Orchard Theatre in August, are looking for medium sized dogs that are kind, obedient and great with children to play the part of Bill Sykes’ loyal canine companion.

The Summer Youth Project will see over 100 Dartford youngsters given the chance to sing, act and dance on the stage under the supervision of a skilled production team.

Participants will spend an intensive two weeks rehearsing for the production which will culminate in four live performances booked between Thursday, August 13 and Saturday, August 15.

Dog auditions will take place on Wednesday, June 24 between 4pm and 5.30pm. Handlers must be aged 18 or over.
