A police spokesman said: "The driver of the Astra, a man in his 20s from Meopham, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to a London hospital for further treatment."

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which led to the road being shut for nearly two hours.

Anyone who has dashcam footage or saw either vehicle beforehand is urged to call the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538, quoting reference RY/MR/128/19, or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk
