Rex the eagle returning to Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation after being found in Newcastle

It takes about five hours by car, not far off six hours by rail, and now we know how long it takes to get from Eynsford to Newcastle by eagle.
Rex, the Steller's sea eagle, was taking part in flying display at around 12.45pm on Friday at Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation in Lullingstone Lane when he strayed away.
Staff struggled to keep track of him due to interference on his GPS, but he was eventually found on Sunday evening - two days and 300 miles away from where he went missing.
The bird of prey will be returning to Eagle Heights tomorrow, with someone making their way up to pick him up this afternoon.
A message on the Eagle Heights Facebook page reads: "Thank you to everyone for your help and support and a special thank you must go to Craig of the Kirkleatham Owl Centre who brought him to his centre safely Help us spread the word that Rex is safe and will be returning to Eagle Heights tomorrow."
