Farmyard friends sort the sheep from the kids at Darenth Community Primary School

Published: 00:01, 21 June 2014

There was farmyard fun for these youngsters when they discovered goats, sheep and chickens in the playground.

Pupils at Darenth Community Primary School met the animals supplied by the Mobile Farm Experience.

Head teacher Jo Cerullo said: “The whole idea was about getting engagement with the children by doing something different. We’ve been concentrating on writing in school and this was part of developing their writing skills.

“The children learnt about the importance of farm animals, where they come from, looking after them and how they are part of the food chain.”
