A blaze on Dartford Heath is believed to have been started deliberately say Kent Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters tackled the blaze covering 100 square metres of heathland after receiving a call from a member of the public just before 2pm on Saturday afternoon.

Crews say there were four separate seats of fire, and believe the blazes had been started deliberately.

They used a four wheel drive vehicle equipped with a high powered hose - known as a "fire fogging system" - which is designed to fight woodland and grassland fires. Its hose can cut right through to the bottom of the undergrowth and uses very little water.

Anyone with any information on arsons and those responsible is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
