Flood alerts have been put in place across parts of North Kent.

High tides are forecast at 3pm with the possibility of flooding to land close to the coast between Dartford and Allhallows in Medway.

Multiple areas are expected to be affected, including Crayford, Greenhithe, Northfleet, Gravesend and the North Kent Marshes.

A flood alert has been put in place across parts of the Kent coastline from Dartford to All Hallows.

The Environment Agency issued the warning due to the high tide forecast this afternoon.

It said: "Flooding is possible two hours either side of this time from 1pm to 5pm.

"Property flooding is not expected at this time, however we are monitoring the situation."

The government body said its staff were monitoring the situation from areas of concern and would continue to issue updates.

In the meantime it warned people to be careful when walking along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads.

It follows warnings from the Met Office of strong winds across the county, with bad weather predicted for a number of days.
