Kent Telugu Community stage Bathukamma & Dandiya Festivals in front of Deputy Mayor of Dartford

The Deputy Mayor of Dartford joined in celebrations at a floral festival.

The Kent Telugu Community (KTC) staged the Bathukamma & Dandiya event at Castlehill Community Centre, Cherry Orchard Road, Swanscombe, on Saturday, October 13.

They invited Cllr Roger Perfitt (Con), as their guest of honour.

KTC was co-founded by Sahiti Srikanth and Pavani Ganesh and the event featured music from a Bollywood DJ and an array of festive food and lots of colourful dances. Bathukamma is floral festival celebrated predominantly by the Hindu women.

KTC executive team member, Krishna Pavan Challa, said: “The Deputy Mayor was very happy attending the event and thoroughly enjoyed it and even extended his own time slot and gave us positive comments. He said there was true community spirit demonstrated by the energetic KTC executive team.”
