One was a woman in her 30s, the other in her 60s.

Both were conscious though the woman in her 60s was suffering from back pain.

The pair were taken to Princess Royal hopsital.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to gain access to them and they were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Other people were involved in the crash and were treated at the scene.

All lanes of the M25 were blocked for an hour until the crews were able to clear the area and lanes gradually re-opened.
