Crayford's Ian Taylor and dance champ son Bradley to launch charity competition

A charity Strictly Come Dancing-style competition is searching for two male dancers to take centre stage and complete their line-up.
Organiser Ian Taylor, from Green Walk, Crayford, is looking for two men – preferably Macmillan nurses or with a connection to the charity – to join two female nurses based at Darent Valley Hospital who are already signed up to the challenge.
As with BBC’s Strictly, the contestants will learn dances in regular sessions over the coming months, guided by professional dancers, including Ian’s son Bradley, 18, who is one of the top ballroom and Latin dancers in the country and a former European champion. The challenge will end in a special fundraising show in front of four dance judges next year, in April or May.
Mr Taylor said he chose to raise money for Macmillan due to the support the charity gave his mother Pat while she was suffering with breast cancer.
And he said Pat, who died four years ago aged 84, loved watching Bradley perform in competitions.
“My mum was his biggest fan,” said Mr Taylor, 55. “She went everywhere to support him.
“Macmillan were fantastic looking after her. My wife has also lost people to cancer, so I was looking at ways to give something back.”
Anyone who is intertested should email Ian at itayl9@aol.com or call 07807 663660.
