One of the men is reported to have grabbed the victim's coat hood and demands were made for the woman’s bankcard and phone.

However a member of the public - reported to be a passing driver - intervened and the men left empty-handed.

A 19-year-old man was arrested during the morning of Sunday January 5 in connection with the attempted robbery and he currently remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
