Traffic is queuing in surrounding areas with reports of cars reversing around the Princes Road roundabout in Dartford.

Spokesman for Transport for London Vicky Morley confirmed two bus services - the 96 and 428 - have now been diverted.

She said: "We were alerted on Friday evening to a burst water main. As a result we have two buses on diversion.

"It is not yet known when the incident will be cleared."

Spokesman for Thames Water Becky Trotman apologised for any disruption caused before estimating the road would reopen on Wednesday.

“We’re sorry for any disruption caused by our emergency repairs," she said.

"Our engineers worked through the weekend to fix two leaks on a ten-inch wide pipe and we’ve today started to put the road back to normal, including filling in the holes we had to dig and replacing the road surface.

"We expect to reopen the road on Wednesday or before if we can.”
