An aspiring young actor has been keeping himself grounded by using his daily exercise to help keep his community clean and tidy.

Isaac Bishop, 7, has taken to litter picking around Dartford Heath with his sister to pass the time.

Mum Rebecca says her son's wanting to pick up a stick and help preen the park was his own idea.

She said: "We went for a walk and we could not believe how much rubbish was on the Heath.

"A lot of people think because there is nobody around; they don't think they are going to stop them."

What she was not quite expecting was the response from her son who remarked: "I can use my litter picker mum!"

The mother-of-four says Isaac acquired his litter-picking stick weeks ago after a visit to the Pound shop.

She offered to buy her son a toy as a treat but he insisted on the grabber.

Now the Wentworth Primary pupil is putting it into good use on his daily walks during the lockdown with his older sister Emma, 13, who is working towards her Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Sadly the introduction of social distancing has meant no less litter, with bagged dog mess the biggest gripe.

Picking up waste is a world away from some of Isaac's other pursuits which include starring in a Natwest TV advert.

The aspiring actor has featured in various adverts since enrolling at the Liz Burville Performing Arts company in Bexley.

Most recently he provided a short appearance in the bank's popular #thisishowwedoit campaign which delivers money sense lessons in schools.

Isaac's daily good deed might soon come to a halt after people were spotted disregarding social distancing rules and sunbathing in parks across the UK this weekend.

It prompted health secretary Matt Hancock to say the government would not rule out more stringent measures, including asking councils to lock outdoor green areas.
