The father of a young man who died in a Cyprus knife attack has paid tribute to him, saying "I couldn't wish for a better son".

George Low, 22, from Dartford, died and his friend was badly injured in a horrific stabbing in the Cypriot holiday resort of Ayia Napa.

George was reported to have suffered fatal neck injuries while out in the popular clubbing area on Saturday night. His friend’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Speaking at the family home in Ladywood Road, Dartford, this morning, Martyn Low, 55, George’s dad: “He touched everyone. Everyone who knew George loved him.

“He was fun loving, loved people, loved life, and lived life to the full.

“I couldn’t wish for a better son. He was always playing pranks and you never knew what he was going to get up to next.

“He was so well liked. [The tributes online] shows you how much people loved him.
“What a super guy he was. Nobody had a bad word to say about him.”

The tragedy has devastated George’s family – dad Martyn, mum Helen, 47, and his two brothers and two sisters – Wesley, 23, Laura, 29, Millie, 17, and Oliver, 11.

Some of the family are preparing to fly out to Cyprus tomorrow to bring George home for his funeral.

Tributes have continued to be paid to George, who attended Axton Chase School – now Longfield Academy – and played football growing up for Longfield Tigers.

Jason Woods, who is believed to have spent time with George in Ayia Napa, posted on Facebook: "Words can't describe what you meant to me. I was lucky to have you as a brother and I am truly heartbroken by this tragedy!!"
