A huge eagle which went missing after a birds of prey demonstration has returned home of his own accord.

Rex the Steller's Sea Eagle, which belongs to Eagle Heights wildlife park, flew off on Sunday during the midday show at the Dartford centre.

He was spotted over Lullingstone golf course near Eynsford, and Tonbridge over the past few days, including a sighting near Hildenborough at around 11.30am.

Just after 1pm today he flew back home following his jaunt.

A spokeswoman for the centre said: "We are so happy he is back safe and well, and thank you for everyone's help."

The birds occasionally do fly off, which is why they have transmitters to trace them, but Rex's had failed.
