Kent business owner Stephanie Affleck is among 16 new candidates hoping to win through on TV show The Apprentice.

The owner of Swanley-based childrenswear store The Little Fashion House says she will be bring a "no-nonsense work ethic" to the programme, in a bid to win Alan Sugar's £250,000 investment prize.

Stephanie, 28, describes herself as "confident, decisive and brutally honest", and is looking for funding and support to develop her business.

The BBC's website states "Stephanie wants to be part of the rapidly growing pre-loved fashion industry and to make a difference in the world."

And she adds: "I’m an East London girl, and I’ve got that no-nonsense sort of work ethic. I’ve got grit, determination and I’m determined to be successful."

Prior to establishing her business, Stephanie worked as an events planner and has First class BA (honours) degree in Events Management from the University of West London.

The Apprentice made its return to BBC One last night and airs every Thursday at 9pm, with episodes available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

After two years away due to the pandemic, the show sees Alan Sugar joined by Karren Brady and former Apprentice winner Tim Campbell, who is standing in for Claude Littner.

The show is followed by The Apprentice: You’re Fired, on BBC Two.
