Motorists faced long delays on a motorway due to multi-car crash.

The M25 clockwise from Junction 4 for Orpington to Junction 5 of the M26 near Sevenoaks was blocked just before 4pm after a two-vehicle collision.

National Highways reported one lane was closed and the ambulance service had been called to the collision.

One person was treated by paramedics for their injuries.

There was congestion all the way back to Junction 3 at the Swanley interchange, with the opposite side slow due to drivers slowing down to look.

Firefighters and police also attended, but no rescue operations were required.

Crews made the area safe to allow for clear up works and recovery.

Emergency services left the scene at around 5pm.

Following the accident, drivers faced approximately 30 minutes of delays as traffic returned to normal.
