An elderly driver has died after his Toyota went through a fence.
The family of Jerome Groves, 82, have paid tribute to him after he was involved in a fatal collision in Green Street Green Road, Dartford, at around 5pm yesterday.
Mr Groves, a father, grandfather and great-grandfather from Hartley has been described as the "loveliest and kindest man".
The former Rainham resident, who was born in East Ham, came off the road and through a fence near Pinden Ltd and died from his injures.
The father-of-two, who was a massive West Ham fan, enjoyed playing golf at the Redlibbets club in Sevenoaks and chess.
His daughter Sarah Groves, 60, said the family are devastated by his sudden death.
The former Isle of Sheppey resident said: "He was the kindest man you'd ever meet. He was a really good dad.
"He was a really special man with a great sense of humour."
Ms Groves is appealing for anyone with any information on how the crash happened to come forward.
She added: "My mum is in Darent Valley Hospital and he's her carer, so we think he was on his way to see her or coming back from there.
"The road is pretty straight so we don't really know how he came off it, unless he closed his eyes or had a heart attack.
"I was told something had gone through his chest, but we probably won't know fully until an inquest has taken place."
Mr Groves leaves behind his daughter Sarah, wife Patricia, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is carrying out inquiries and officers are appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or has relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
Drivers with dashcam that may assist can upload the footage here.
Anyone with information should call the SCIU appeal line on 01622 798538, or send an email, quoting reference MM/SW/118/22.
