Man on trial for murder of George Barker from South Darenth

The trial of a 37-year-old accused of murdering a Kent man who was stabbed at a gym in south east London has begun.

George Barker - who was 24 and from South Darenth - was found injured at Double K Gym in Bexley in November 2016.

Charles Riddington, who also faces offensive weapon charges, is on trial at the Old Bailey.

Mr Barker was a regular at the gym and was killed at the site in Stable Lane.

Riddington, from Orpington, south London, was arrested on suspicion of murder in northern Cyprus in August last year.

He has pleaded not guilty to murder and to possessing an offensive weapon.

Before he was apprehended police had offered a £10,000 reward for his arrest.

The trial continues.
