Man airlifted to hospital after reportedly falling from roof in Lavinia Road, Dartford

A workman has been airlifted to hospital after reportedly falling from the roof of a home.

An air ambulance was spotted landing on a football pitch near Dartford’s Central Park at around 5.30pm yesterday.

The service confirmed a helicopter was dispatched to the area.

A spokesperson said: “Our crew arrived on scene at 5.21pm where they worked with SECAmb to help treat the patient, involved in an accidental injury.

“The patient was then transported to a major trauma centre by air.”

A resident, who was nearby at the time, says there were several roof cleaners working on a property in Lavinia Road.

They said: “I heard a loud yell filled with fear and at same time a cracking sound on the floor, immediately I knew the ladder had fallen and someone had fallen with it.

“I went back to check it out and he wasn’t in a good shape.

“He had managed to hit his head and couldn’t move – his mate was there visibly shaken.

“An ambulance was called, but they obviously needed to airlift him.”

“The man was in a stable condition,” they added. “He was talking, but was in a lot of agony.”

The ambulance service has been contacted for more information.
