A man was taken to hospital last night after suffering burn wounds when his garage caught fire.

Dartford and Thameside fire crews were called to the School Lane in Bean just after 6pm.

It took three pumps almost an hour to quell the blaze.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to hospital.
