A man was kicked and stamped on in a violent robbery after a night out celebrating with a friend.

A 34-year-old man had just left his friend’s home in Sycamore Drive, Swanley, when two men joined him.

One borrowed a mobile phone but then refused to return it. The pair are then alleged to have threatened the victim with a knife before they assaulted him, kicking and stamping on him until he was unconscious.

The attack is believed to have occurred in Northview, close to the junction with Alexandra Close. The victim suffered a number of cuts and heavy bruising to his face, hands and legs and has reported that two mobile phones, one a Sony and the other an HTC smart phone were stolen.

It happened at around 6.30am to 7am on New Year’s Day, but details have only just been released.

Kent Police is now appealing for witnesses to come forward. The first suspect is described as white, in his late 20s, of heavy build and around 5ft 9ins. The second suspect was white and also described as having a heavy build. He was wearing a stripy black jumper.

Detective Constable Ben Clatworthy said: “This was a sustained and violent assault which could have resulted in far more serious injuries.

“We believe it is also possible that when the men were walking with the victim they may have been trying front door handles of properties in the area, with a view to committing further offences.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to call the police.”
