Man taken to King's College Hospital in London with head injuries after assault in West Kingsdown

A man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after he was assaulted in West Kingsdown.

Police, ambulance and an air ambulance were called to Hever Avenue in the village just after 8am yesterday.

He was taken by to King's College Hospital in London by road with severe head and neck injuries.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called shortly after 8am on July 5 to a report of a disturbance at an address in Hever Avenue in West Kingsdown.

"A 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH [grievous bodily harm] and was later released on bail until July 27 pending further investigation.

"A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is also under arrest.

"The men are believed to be known to each other and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
