Man walking along A2 near Bluewater detained by immigration officers in Dover

A man seen walking along the A2 near Bluewater has been detained by border force officials.

Police were called after several concerned members of the public called in to report him walking on the busy dual carriageway at Bean near Dartford.

When officers from the Dartford policing team and Kent Police roads patrol unit arrived at the scene to check on him, they established he probably entered the country illegally.

Police said the man was transported to Dover and has been passed over to immigration officers.
