The Mayor of Dartford visited a three-day-long Hindu celebration.
Councillor David Mote (Con) was at the Ganesh Chaturthi event last month with his wife Ellen, at Darenth Village Hall in Ladywood Road, Dartford.
It was organised by the Kent Telugu Community (KTC) to celebrate the Hindu festival that Indians recognise around the world with around 120 people attending.
Visitors could take part in a number of things over the three days, including rituals with their families, cultural programmes and dancing from some of the children.
Food for the celebration was being prepared from 3am on the last on Saturday, September 15, by family members of the KTC team.
KTC executive team member Krishna Pavan Challa thought event was a massive success.
He said: "It was full of energy and enthusiasm. It seemed like all the families thoroughly enjoyed the festival.
"The children's performances and chief guests David and Ellen Mote were the most popular.
"People were filling up the hall and taking pictures and videos of the event."
Cllr Mote thought the event was a fantastic celebration.
He said: "The community is a wonderful group of families.
