More changes to bus timetables come into force tomorrow as one firm continues to try to keep key routes open.

Arriva is continuing to run a reduced bus service in all areas it operates to serve local communities as much as possible.

Changes to Saturday timetables in the Dartford and Gravesend areas come into effect tomorrow (Saturday, April 18).

Oliver Monahan, area managing director from Arriva, said: “At Arriva we are at the centre of our local communities and are committed to running vital services so key workers can get to and from work.

"We are listening to customers' feedback daily to constantly review and tailor our services to meet their needs.

"We are acutely aware of the vital role public transport plays in keeping these key workers moving and will continue to prioritise these key routes.

"We also appreciate that we might not get it right everywhere so please get in touch with us if you feel we can help.”

Arriva is urging people to travel in line with the latest government advice and to keep checking the website at www.arrivabus.co.uk/coronavirus-ks for up-to-date bus times for now and future travel, as Arriva amends its service to meet demand and key worker requirements.

"We are acutely aware of the vital role public transport plays in keeping these key workers moving and will continue to prioritise these key routes"

Mr Monahan added: “We are also committed to keeping our passengers and workforce safe.

"As an additional protective measure, we would kindly ask all passengers to use contactless payment.

"Our drivers will only accept cash in exceptional circumstances and again we’d ask that the correct fare is paid as drivers will no longer be able to give change.

"This is in order to protect both our drivers and our customers during these difficult times.

"I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff who continue to provide such an essential service to the community.”
