A nurse who was battling Covid-19 for three weeks received a guard of honour from colleagues as she was discharged from hospital.

Kunjunjamma Babu, a sister on Darent Valley's Cherry ward, was admitted to hospital on Sunday, April 12, after showing Covid-19 symptoms.

She was looked after on Palm ward, and staff gave her an ecstatic send-off as she left on Monday to continue her recovery at home with her family.

Kunjunjamma said: “I cannot thank my colleagues enough for taking such good care of me. I am so happy to be going home and overwhelmed by the guard of honour."
