The parents of Stephen Cameron who was stabbed to death in a road rage incident, have spoken of their agony as their son's killer could be moved to an open prison.

Ken and Toni Cameron appeared on ITV's This Morning, to talk about the result of Kenneth Noye's parole board hearing this week.

Noye, 68, was jailed for life after he stabbed 21-year-old Stephen Cameron to death on a slip road of the M25 near Dartford in 1996.

But in a recent hearing Noye was deemed fit to be moved to an open prison. The decision will have to be approved by the Ministry of Justice.

The couple spoke of their heartbreak to This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Toni Cameron, when asked about her son's death, said: "We didn't know how happy we were until we had it taken away.

"We will never be as happy but we have got to carry on for our other children and grandchildren."

In 1986, Noye stabbed an undercover police officer to death in the grounds of his home but was cleared of murder when he claimed the 11 wounds he inflicted were in self-defence.

He was jailed for 14 years for handling stolen goods when 11 gold bars were found in the same investigation. He was released in 1994.

After killing Stephen, Noye fled to Spain which triggered a huge manhunt before he was caught and jailed in 2000.

Stephen's ex-girlfriend Danielle Cable was put into a witness protection programme following the road rage incident which she was involved in.

Ken Cameron, when asked his reaction to the announcement, said: "I half expected it but I couldn't cope with it.

"He has never shown any remorse. He should serve life. He left Stephen for dead in a gutter.

"I think he knows how to play the system. He tells and shows them what they want to see.

"Why is Danielle in protective custody? It tells you he is a dangerous man."

The couple also said they are worried about their family and the effect it will have on them, if Noye is moved to an open prison.

Toni added: "We will do our best, we can only fight in Stephen's order. His friends are all behind us."

Ken also said to Holly and Phil he doesn't think the family will ever get peace, but he would like to see justice for his son.

He said: "We would like to see justice in this case. I think life should mean life.

"Our son hasn't got a life and our life will never be the same."

It is believed Noye is currently held at Waylands prison, in Norfolk.
