Pedestrians walking along the carriageway of the M25 has forced part of the motorway to shut.

Drivers are facing delays after two lanes were closed between J2 Darenth Interchange to J3 and the M20 J1 Swanley Interchange at about 8.30pm.

It is reportedly due to people being on the motorway on the clockwise carriageway.

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured following the incident.

Traffic cameras show an ambulance on the hard shoulder with its blue lights flashing with other vehicles passing by.

Emergency services have been contacted for comment.
