A person has died after being hit by train at station in Crayford

A person has died after being hit by a train at Crayford station.

The line between Sidcup and Crayford Spur has been closed after the incident causing widespread disruption.

British Transport Police officers were at the scene with paramedics.

A man was hit by a train at Crayford Station.

Spokesperson Matt Woodhouse said: "British Transport Police were called at 11.03am to Crayford station following reports of a person struck by a train.

"Sadly the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We are working to identify them and inform their family."

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Tickets are being accepted on local bus routes.

Trains between London and Dartford may be diverted via the Bexleyheath or Plumstead lines.
