Police called after concerns for man on Dartford Crossing

Police were called to Dartford Crossing after concerns for a man's welfare.

Traffic was stopped for around 30 minutes on the QE II Bridge as it came into Kent from Essex.

Essex Police were called to the Dartford Crossing due to concerns for a persons welfare

Motorists heading along the M25 had to sit in one mile long queues as Essex Police dealt with the incident.

Traffic was held from 7.40am and later released at 8.05am.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called shortly after 7.20am today with concerns for the safety of a man on the Dartford Crossing bridge.

"Our officers and crossing patrol officers spoke to him and he was brought to safety. He was left in the care of health professionals."

All lanes have re-opened now.
