Police called to Crayford following reports of shop theft

The police’s hunt for a suspected thief forced the power on train lines to be shut down.

The Metropolitan Police responded to reports on a theft at 12.30pm on Wednesday, May 23, of a theft from a shop in Crayford.

A man was reported to have stolen a number of items from a shop in Tower Park Road.

Police called to Crayford following reports of shop theft.

Officers attended and a search of the local area, including the area around Crayford station, was conducted.

Police dogs assisted with the search.

There was no trace of the suspect.

The items were found and returned to the shop.

The investigation has been closed but will be reopened if any further information comes to light.
