A poster campaign to humiliate politicians with their own words has made its way to the town.

'Led By Donkeys' is a mysterious Twitter account that has been responsible for putting up billboards to troll MPs.

Their first victim was former Prime Minister David Cameron who was targeted earlier this month.

The group blew up his tweet mocking former Labour leader Ed Miliband, which said "Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband."

A number of other MPs and even current Prime Minister Theresa May have fallen victim to the campaign.

However, now the posters have made their way to Kent, with one being seen in Westgate Road, Dartford.

The same poster was put up in Dover earlier this month, accompanied by one of the PM.

A spokesman for the anonymous group said: "We chose Dartford because it's part of the vital trade artery that extends from Dover to the rest of the UK economy.

"It's unbelievable that the ex-Brexit Secretary knew little of the importance of the Dover-Calais trade route.

"A few of us involved in this project grew up in Kent so we're well aware of the importance of the port and the tunnel for jobs and investment.

"It's pretty shocking that a Cabinet Minister didn't get it. That's why we've branded him a donkey and put his quote on a billboard."

The group, which was started up after a discussion at the pub, has a crowdfunding page which has raised more than £78,000 to plaster politician's words over the country.
