Retired pilot who fell to death from Swanley flat named as Mark Strickland

A man who died after falling from a block of flats has been named.

Retired commercial pilot Mark Strickland, 36, plunged from a window of a block in Azalea Drive, Swanley, just before midday on Saturday, April 7.

Mr Strickland, who lived in Putney but was staying with his partner at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.

Coroner for North West Kent Roger Hatch formally opened and adjourned his inquest at Maidstone's Archbishop's Palace last Wednesday

No further details of what happened were revealed at the brief hearing.

His cause of death was given as multiple injuries.

The inquest will resume on Tuesday, June 26 at 2pm.
