Motorists suffered severe delays tonight following an accident on the M25.

Two cars were involved in the crash on the motorway anticlockwise between junction 6 for A22/B2235 Godstone and junction 5 for M26/A21.

There is congestion on M25 to junction 9 for Leatherhead.

Lane four of the carriageway was blocked and traffic was held for a brief moment to fully recover the vehicles involved and collect in the road markers.

It happened at around 3.10pm and motorists were warned of delays of between 70 to 90 minutes.

Traffic eventually returned to normal at around 7.50pm.
