Youngsters at a new school now have somewhere fun to let off steam.
Springhead Park Primary School, in Ebbsfleet Garden City, opened its doors to its first pupils in September.
Now, it has a new playground giving pupils the chance to be active, encourage their physical development, work together in team games, have fun with their friends and explore their imaginations.
As a new build, the school is taking full advantage, generating lots of ideas to best develop the space. Pupils will soon be planting trees in the grounds – literally planting the roots of Springhead Park Primary School – to form part of the outdoor forest school.
Pupils, families and the wider community are being encouraged to suggest other ideas to widen outdoor learning and staff are looking at possibilities such as allotments, orchards, sensory gardens and wildlife areas to help youngsters develop their wellbeing, foster a respect for nature and increase their understanding of the world around them.
Suggestions are welcomed on email to office@springhead.kent.sch.uk.
Head teacher Wayne Clayton said: “We have been eagerly anticipating our new outdoor equipment, and the long-awaited smiles on the children’s faces certainly didn’t disappoint. We are so pleased with how much our pupils are just loving their new playground.
“This helps to really give an exciting new dimension to our excellent facilities here at Springhead Park Primary School. We look forward to working with our pupils and the wider community to keep developing the grounds of our amazing new school."
The admissions window is now open for pupils looking to join from Year R through to Year 5 in September 2021.
The school is part of The Primary First Trust.
