A suspected shoplifter has been charged after meat, chocolate and detergents were stolen from Sainsbury's and the Co-op.
Adam Lloyd appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court today following a series of thefts from stores in Swanley, Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.
Between April 4 and April 6, items from the shops were alleged to have been stolen in large quantities.
On Tuesday, April 20 a suspect was identified near Swanley train station and arrested.
Lloyd, 25, of Glyn Davies Close, Dunton Green, was later charged with six counts of theft and with resisting or obstructing a police constable in the execution of their duty.
He was further charged with assaulting a shop worker at a Savers store in Swanley.
Magistrates adjourned the next hearing until May 18 at Sevenoaks' court. Lloyd was bailed until that date.
