Appeal after teen stabbed during attempted robbery in Summerhill Road, Dartford

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed during an attempted robbery.

The teenage victim was approached by a man in Summerhill Road, Dartford, at the junction with Highfield Road, at around 9.30pm on Monday.

He was told by the offender to hand over a ring and a struggle took place between the two.

The teenager was taken to a local hospital

As a result he sustained a deep cut to his knee which was treated at a local hospital.

The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Police are describing the suspect as black, 6ft 1in man, in his 20s, of a large build, who spoke with a local accent.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a grey tracksuit with a dark parka coat.

Detective Sergeant Mike Champion, from Kent Police’s Crime Investigation Department in North Kent, said: "Incidents of this nature are rare and those who carry them out can expect a robust, zero-tolerance approach from Kent Police.

"We have already conducted multiple enquiries, including checking for forensic evidence and speaking with local residents.

"I would ask anyone living in this area who has privately held CCTV, and is yet to speak with our officers, to contact us on 01474 366149 quoting 46/72550/19.

"Likewise, we would like to hear from anyone who saw a man in this area matching the description provided.

"Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact independent charity Crimestoppers in Kent on 0800 555 111."
