Manager Tony Burman hailed his side’s first silverware in more than a decade on a ‘fantastic day’ which saw Dartford win the Kent Senior Cup in front of more than 2,000 fans on Monday.

Dartford beat Bromley 4-1 at Princes Park to lift the trophy for the 10th time in their history.

It completed a successful final weekend of the season, as Saturday’s 3-2 win over Maidenhead also saw them secure a top-10 finish in Blue Square Bet South ahead of Bromley who beat Darts 4-1 in the league just a week earlier.

Burman said: "It was a pretty good few days, especially after the week we had, losing three straight games. The players earned respect by showing they could bounce back.

"We scored three great goals at Maidenhead on Saturday and showed the quality which is there. Then on Monday we rounded off the season in style.

"To have more than 2,000 there was not in my wildest dreams. We wanted to put on a show for them and asked the boys to give us one last effort after a hard season.

"I was delighted for everyone involved with the club that we were able to win. It was a fantastic day."
